On February 18, 2014 at approximately 11:35pm, Officers discovered Larry Lavaughan Farmer and William Jeffrey Harris had escaped from the Lumpkin County Detention Center.

Due to the injuries Harris received from the wire atop the fences, he turned himself back in to officers.

Farmer has yet to be re-captured.

He is a white male, 47 years old, 6 ft. 1 in tall, 220 pounds, blue eyes, gray hair.

Farmer was in Lumpkin County Detention Center on the following charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony), Attempt to Distribute Methamphetamine (Felony), Trafficking Methamphetamine (Felony), Fleeing/Eluding Police Officer (Felony), Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon (Felony), Possession of Firearm/Knife during Commission of Crime (Felony), Forgery in the First Degree (Felony), Giving False Name, Address, or Birthdate to Officer, and multiple traffic offenses.

Farmer has been known to frequent areas in Hall, Habersham and Lumpkin counties.

Escape was made when the two broke through an interior cell wall, by forcefully removing a toilet from the wall, and made entry into a mechanical area of the facility. A window in the mechanical area was broken by the two and both were able to make it to the exterior of the facility. Once outside, the two were able to climb over two fences, one with barbed wire and the other with razor wire.

Anyone with information on Farmer’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office at 706-864-3633. FARMER IS CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.
