Shirley Goff-Eisele, 75, of Dahlonega passed away in Gainesville, Georgia the morning of Thursday, September 5, 2013 after losing her second battle with cancer.
Born Shirley Jean Demarco in Patterson, New Jersey, Shirley quickly developed a flair for all things fashion, especially interior decoration and space planning. Post college, she studied furniture design and founded a furniture design and fabrication firm in Boca Raton, Florida that encompassed two showrooms and employed 80 people. Shirley was a member of ASFD, the American Society of Furniture Designers.
Shirley discovered Dahlonega while doing design work for clients in North Georgia. She and her husband David moved from Miami to the Dahlonega area in 1998. She quickly became active in a number of local civic organizations including the Dahlonega–Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Merchants Association and the Dahlonega Rotary Club, and WILL Women In Lumpkin leadership.
Shirley loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hiking and keeping herself in shape with her friends at Jazzercise. She was also an avid fan of classic Hollywood movies and Broadway shows.
She is survived by her husband David Eisele of Dahlonega, Georgia who was with her for 27 years. She is also survived by her son Anthony Goffredo of Colorado and stepson David James Eisele of Nevada.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Berea Baptist Church. The church is located at 43 Pecks Mill Creek Road in Dahlonega, Georgia. Pastor Ray Prince will officiate.

Joyce Martin Anderson, age 77, of Murrayville (Lumpkin County) passed away on Friday September 6, 2013, at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2. Arrangements by Dahlonega Funeral Home.
