Call for Special Election

Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540 and O.C.G.A 3-3-7(j) & (p), a special election shall be held in conjunction with the November 6, 2012 General Election in Lumpkin County for the purpose of submitting to the voters the following questions for approval or rejection:

“Shall the governing authority of Lumpkin County be authorized to permit and regulate Sunday sales of distilled spirits and alcoholic beverages for beverage purposes by the drink?”

“Shall the governing authority of Lumpkin County be authorized to permit and regulate Sunday sales of malt beverages and wine by retailers of malt beverages and wine?”

The special election will be held in conjunction with the November 6, 2012 General Election.

All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on October 9, 2012.
