Mr. Julian Bell, age 66, of Dahlonega, died June 1, 2012.
Julian was born in Winder, Ga.. He lived all of his adult life in Dahlonega. He was a retired butcher.
Julian was preceded in death by his father, Billy Josh Bell; and a sister, Lisa Bell.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Glenda Rider Bell, Dahlonega; daughter, Julie (Tracy) Caldwell , Dahlonega; sons, Allen (Jennifer) Bell, Monroe, Ga., Greg (Elizabeth) Bell, Dahlonega; mother, Helen Bell, Bethlehem, Ga.; sisters, Clara (Bud) Allen, Bethlehem, Ga., Barbara (Jerry) Goddard, Lilburn, Ga., Donna (Steve) Standridge, Hull, Ga.. Janice (Ron) Barckley, Riverside, California; brother, Charles (Lynne) Bell, Winder, G.; grandchildren, Brody Bell, Bryce Bell, Lydia Caldwell, Chase Bell, and Sarah Bell.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.
Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Terry Head, and Rev. Franklin Grant officiated.
Interment was in the Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery.

James A. “Jim” Davis
James A. “Jim” Davis, Lt. Col. (Ret), age 72, of Dahlonega, died May 26, 2012.
Jim has been a resident of Dahlonega since 1989. He was born and raised in Atlanta and graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1957. Jim graduated from North Georgia College in 1961 and received a commission as a 2nd Lt. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1985.
Jim was an Eagle Scout, maintaining registration with the BSA for 59 years. In 1976 he was presented the Silver Beaver Award by the Transatlantic Council. He was a Rotarian and served as President of the Dahlonega Rotary Club in 1996.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Barber, of Atlanta and their infant son; his parents, Loy W. and Madge M. Davis.
He is survived by his second wife, Martha Green Davis, Dahlonega; daughter, Nancy Jane and son-in-law, Karl Hoerig, grandchildren Natalia Jane and Karson Miles, all of Tucson, AZ; sons, James A. Davis Jr and daughter-in-law, Rhonda, of Gainesville, Ga., and Thomas E. Davis and his partner Daniel Korzun of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Dahlonega United Methodist Church.
Rev. Jeff Ross officiated.
Interment was in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
