The Dahlonega 14U Gold Rush Softball team won first place with a record of 4-1 in the season’s first State GSA (Global Sports Authority) softball tournament recently in Douglasville. Sponsored by the Dahlonega American Legion, this year’s Gold Rush team features all returning Lumpkin County players from last year’s squad that saw much success including an invitation to the GSA World Series. This is the first 14U Gold Rush team ever to win a first place trophy in their season-opening GSA tournament. Coaches: Ricky Fields, Keith Holman and John Jarrard (not pictured).
